Ellen and John's stunning wedding in Rathsallagh Country House

June saw me in Rathsallagh Country House with Ellen and John and their guests. I’d never been there before – what a stunning venue! The wedding ceremony was held in the garden of Rathsallagh. The weather held good and the ceremony was beautiful. From there on it was party party, and I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much at a wedding! Brilliant day, loved every minute of it!

Ardmore Wedding

Ruth and Michael's intimate Cliffhouse wedding in Ardmore

A couple of weeks ago I was in the Cliffhouse in Ardmore for the first time, to photograph Ruth and Michael’s wedding. I’d heard about the Cliffhouse, as it is a real local success story, and the reviews are great! I wasn’t quite so prepared for the gorgeous views over Ardmore beach and across the bay. It is a special place for Ruth and Michael too, as they were life guards here back in their student days. Ruth took great delight in walking out the breakwater pier in her heels and pretending to have a wobble. It was pretty windy and Michael and I both jumped! I was glad to get them back off the pier and onto safe ground, but we really had a lot of fun! And the light and the photos were gorgeous!

Ballymaloe Grain Store Wedding

Ballymaloe Grainstore Wedding on a glorious summers day

What can I say about Paul and Michelle’s wedding at the Grainstore in Ballymaloe? The weather was just stunning, the pool looked inviting, the grounds were full of flower and bloom, and the guests were on fire! Paul and Michelle were the most lovely couple. We shot a few engagement photos and went for a pint a few months before the wedding at the Pepperstack in Aghada, and became the best of friends. More pints were had when I presented them with their album a few months later. Lovely day, lovely couple, dream wedding!

Myself and my new other half Michelle could not recommend Rory highly enough. From the day we first met him, to our engagement shoot, to the big day itself and the meetings we have had since...he has been both the utmost professional as well as an absolute gentleman. During the wedding he was an integral part of the day without being overbearing or taking over. The quality of his photography speaks for itself, the proof book he sent us is packed full of beautiful shots from such a wonderful occasion...he has the "Je ne sais quoi" when it comes to photography...an eye for the unusual shot which produces stunning and memorable images, as well as fantastic family shots and pics of the wedding party. We could not be happier with the results.

Wedding at Liss Ard Estate

Summer wedding at Liss Ard Estate, Skibereen

Headed way down west to Skibereen for a beautiful September wedding on a stunning day at Liss Ard Estate.

Well actually I started at in Cork city in Yvonne’s lovely mum’s house, where makeup artist Liz McCarthy and hairdresser Dominica from Hair Passion Art Salon were busy.

In the meantime, my 2nd shooter for the day, the immensely talented Claire O’Rorke was out in Newcestown with Bryan and the lads as they got ready.

My good friend Colin Hickey joined us on the video camera and we had loads of fun in the sun! Ceremony was in Ballincollig church, and then it was water bottles and sandwiches for the drive down west to beautiful Liss Ard!

Dunmore House Wedding

Aula Maxima UCC and Dunmore House Wedding

Loved this wedding, travelling from Cork city to the lovely Dunmore House Hotel outside Clonakilty. The ceremony was in the AulaMaxima which has beautiful light, so much better than the Honan. It was a day chock full of beauty and laughter, and the weather got better as we drove west!

Muckross Park Killarney Wedding and Fossa Church

What a fantastic winter wedding in Killarney last year! Jessica and Colin travelled from Cork to Killarney to get married. They got ready in Muckross Park Hotel, and headed out to Fossa Church for the ceremony. Light is always an issue at December weddings, so we hightailed it out of the church back to Muckross Abbey for some epic photos as the light faded.

Barnabrow House Wedding – Outdoor Ceremony

Outdoor wedding at Barnabrow House

Dearbhla and Ger’s wedding was one of my favourites last summer. Set in the beautiful Barnabrow House in east Cork, the weather played ball and allowed a gorgeous outdoor civil ceremony, and a party on the deck afterwards. Dearbhla and Ger got ready in the cottages onsite, and there was no need to drive anywhere during the day. Perfect!

Dunmore East Washing by the Sea

We were down in Dunmore East at the end of December for Louise and Brian’s wedding. They were following me down the hill from the church when I spotted this washing line down an alley between some houses. What a scene! I think they thought I as crazy, but I love the juxtaposition of the scene. You will see thousands of photos of a beautiful bride and groom by the sea, but rarely will a washing line be in the photo too! Bet the washing comes in smelling fresh from that line too!

Cliffs of Moher Wedding

Summer Wedding at the Cliffs of Moher

Eibhlin and Ger got married last summer in county Clare at the Falls Hotel in Ennistymon.

It was a wedding with a difference – the celebrant was a druid from the Aran Islands, the party was Fr. Ted themed, and best of all, we went to the Cliffs of Moher for the photos. I don’t have a great head for heights, and it was kinda windy, but my couple were up for it and we made some great photographs!

This was a really creative wedding, with Eibhlin making her own bouquet, from flowers picked in local neighbours gardens, and along the roadside. Eibhlin and Ger also made the signs and props for the Fr. Ted themed Funland, dotted around the hotel garden for the reception.

The weather held and the sun shone, a lovely day!

It was a pleasure to work with model Sandy French today, modelling knitwear for Yarn Vibes.
The weather played ball, and we were able to conduct a very simple shoot, using sunlight and shade, and just a reflector to light the model. Fun day!
